EDUC 355 - Methods of Teaching Spanish: PreK - Grade 6

Prerequisites: admission to teacher education.
This course is designed to prepare students to teach Spanish in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 6. The methodology includes a variety of theories, pragmatic techniques and contemporary teaching methods. A position paper concerning the various immersion program models, content-based instruction, language proficiency, cultural and global awareness, and holistic assessment is required. Students will observe Spanish classes at the elementary school, middleschool and high school levels and write threecritiques. Must be taken concurrently with EDUC 391 Teaching Practicum for Spanish PreK-Grade 6.
