EDUC 441 - Reading Practicum

Prerequisites: one course in teaching of reading, admission to teacher education.
A course designed to give prospective elementary teachers practice in the application of reading and language arts methods learned during the previous methods classes. It is a combination lecture class and field-based experience. It is designed to promote the competencies in recognizing the factors that deter reading achievement and in developing strategies for the improvement of vocabulary, comprehension and study skills. Includes 40 hours field experience.
