HIST 265 - Vietnam, the 60s and 70s

An advanced interdisciplinary study of the 60s and 70s: the most radical, rebellious and idealistic decade in American society that has left a unique legacy. The conflict in Vietnam, the emergence of Martin Luther King Jr. and the civil rights movement, presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, radical artists such as the Beatles and Bob Dylan, the countercultural revolt of the young generation, and the end of this era will all be explored using a variety of sources – historical and government documents,literature, documentary and feature film, popular songs and analytical essays.(Also counts as a History Theme and Period course.)
