The Music Department exists to serve undergraduate students, who wish to study in one of the performance areas, to prepare for a career in music education, to prepare for a ministry of music in churches, and to develop a knowledge and appreciation of music as an integral part of a liberal arts education.
All music majors must register for applied piano or piano class until all parts of piano proficiency exam are passed.
All music majors must register for six semesters of MUSC 175 Concert Hour.
ACCREDITATION
The Friends University Department of Music is a member of the National Association of Schools of Music. The requirements for entrance and for graduation as set forth in this Catalog are in accordance with the published regulations of the National Association of Schools of Music.
