Business Administration – Executive M.B.A.

The Master of Business Administration — Executive program is designed to meet the needs of business leaders with significant management experience and entrepreneurs who have built their own companies. The purpose of the program is to develop participants’ executive decision-making skills within the general functional areas of business.

The first year of the two-year program consists of 19 semester hours of study, which concentrate on executive action skills and basic functions of business. The second year consists of 17 hours of study, which concentrate on strategic planning, executive organizational skills and strategic management.

SCHEDULE

The MBA-Executive program is offered on alternate Saturdays (8 a.m. - 5 p.m.), for most of the program. At the beginning of the program there is an intensive one week session (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., daily). Each hour of course work is equivalent to 12 contact hours. The courses are divided into developmental modules, which are comprehensive and increasingly more difficult as participants progress through the program.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In addition to the requirements stated under the Graduate Admissions Policy, the requirements for admission to EMBA are as follows:

  1. Baccalaureate degree with a grade point average of 2.75 or higher from an accredited institution.
  2. Two letters of recommendation. One from current full-time employer, indicating the company’s support of the applicant’s program of study in the EMBA program. The second from one of two sources: a business associate in the company attesting to the individual’s high performance standards and achievement, or someone in the community who can speak to the integrity and values of the individual.
  3. Completion of the program interview process and written approval of admission by the program director after review of the admission requirements.
  4. A minimum of four years of managerial, supervisory or professional experiences.
  5. Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team and accelerated learning environment.
