Business Administration M.B.A.


The Master of Business Administration program is a professional degree designed to prepare students for leadership positions in business.  The purpose of this program is to develop students’ skills in the functional areas of profit and non-profit organizations.

SCHEDULE

Most courses are  three credit hours and are offered in eight-week terms, one night a week or online. 

Students will earn a general MBA degree upon completion of 30 credit hours consisting of an 18 credit hour core curriculum and 12 credit hours of elective coursework.

Concentrations in a specific discipline area consisting of a minimum of 12 credit hours may be earned in place of elective coursework for a general MBA degree with concentration.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In addition to the requirements stated under the Graduate Admissions Policy, the requirements for admission to MBA are as follows:

  1. Two letters of recommendation: one employer, one personal.
  2. Completion of the program interview process and written approval of admission by the program director after review of the admission requirements.
  3. Accounting track students - bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent

Business, Technology, and Leadership Division Foundations Courses


Students entering a degree program in the Graduate School BTL Division with a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting from an ACBSP, AACSB, or IACBE candidate or accredited institution will be enrolled in the courses associated with the graduate degree they seek.  No BTL Foundations courses are required.


Students entering a degree program in the Graduate School BTL Division with a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting from an institution without secondary business accreditation or candidacy who do not have a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in the field of study they enter at Friends will be required to take courses in BTL Foundations in order to proceed with studies in their chosen graduate business program.
 

Students entering a degree program in the Graduate School BTL Division without a bachelor’s degree in business who do not have a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the field of study they enter at Friends will be required to take courses in BTL Foundations in order to proceed with studies in their chosen graduate business program.

All BTL division students required to take the foundation course must do so within the first 12 hours of their program requirements.

Clarification on when students required to take BSAD 500 and/or BSAD 501 Foundation courses must have completed the courses.
