The Master of Science in Information Security program is designed to meet the demand for information security professionals in the workforce.  During their program of studies, students focus on current research activities in the field of information security, and use active learning to develop the skills necessary to protect an organization’s technology and information assets.

Schedule

Courses are 3 credit hours and are generally offered in eight-week terms one night a week on ground, online and e-synchronously.

Students will earn an MS degree upon completion of 37 credit hours consisting of 6 credit hours in two foundational business courses, 12 credit hours in four core cyber/information systems courses, 12 hours in four Information Security program courses, 3 credit hours of further study in an elective CYBR or MIS subject, and a 4 credit hour Capstone course.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the requirements stated under the Graduate Admissions Policy, the requirements for admission to MSIS are as follows:

• Letter of recommendation from employer or professional reference.
• Completion of program interview process and written approval of admission by the program director after review of the admission requirements.
• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution which includes topical coverage consistent with NSA CAE Core Knowledge Unit Requirements to include a minimum of 3 credit hours with a C or better:
