A grade of “C” or better must be earned in each Division required course applied to the major or minor.

Employment

A major in Accounting traditionally leads to employment in public, private, government or not-for-profit organizations such as public accounting firms, teaching, international companies, governmental agencies, healthcare agencies, law, and social work.

General Education Requirements for Business and Information Technology Majors


Additional Math Requirements: 3 credit hours


Total Major Requirements: 63 credit hours


NOTE:  Students who plan to sit for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam must have 150 credit hours that are specifically outlined by the Kansas Board of Accountancy.  In addition to the courses listed above, students should take three hours of additional Economics and three hours of additional Law.  The requirements for the CPA exam vary by state and are subject to change.
