Health Care Leadership, MHCL

The Master of Health Care Leadership is designed to prepare students for responsible positions of professional leadership in the health care environment. The purpose of the program is to develop students’ knowledge base of the current healthcare environment as well as their decision-making skills within the functional areas of healthcare organizations.

Schedule

Courses are 3 credit hours and are generally offered in eight-week terms one night a week on campus, online, or e-synchronously. 

Admission Requirements

In addition to the requirements stated under the Graduate Admissions Policy, the requirements for admission to the Business Graduate Program are as follows:

  1. One letter of recommendation
  2. Resume
  3. Completion of a 1-2 page paper on why you have selected the specific program and why Friends University.  The Business Division will provide written approval of admission after the review of the paper and other admission requirements.

Master of Health Care Leadership

Division of Business and Information Technology Foundation Course: 0-3 credit hours


The Division of Business and Information Technology will place students in an appropriate foundational course based on criteria that traditionally indicates student preparedness for graduate level business courses.

Students entering a graduate degree program in the Division of Business and Information Technology (DBIT) with a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field will be enrolled in the courses associated with the graduate degree they seek. The DBIT Foundation course is not required.

Students entering a graduate degree program in the Division of Business and Information Technology (DBIT) without a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field will be required to take the DBIT Foundation course in order to proceed with studies in their chosen graduate business program.

All DBIT students required to take the foundation course must do so within the first 6 credit hours of their program requirements. The foundation course may not be used to satisfy any elective requirements toward a master’s degree offered by the DBIT.

Total Degree Requirements: 30-33 credit hours
