The candidates with a degree in Accounting must complete 49 hours outside the Division. A grade of “C” must be earned in each Division course applied to the degree.
EMPLOYMENT
A major in Accounting traditionally leads to employment in public, private, government or not-for-profit organizations such as public accounting firms, teaching, international companies, governmental agencies, healthcare agencies, law, and social work.

Common Business/Technology Professional Core Requirements
Common Core Requirements: 39 credit hours
Additional Major Requirements: 24 hours
Choose two of the following:
Plus Requirements from Other Areas: 12 hours
Total Major Requirements: 75 hours
NOTE: Students who plan to sit for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam must have 150 credit hours that are specifically outlined by the Kansas Board of Accountancy. In addition to the courses listed above, students should take three hours of additional Economics and three hours of additional Law. The requirements for the CPA exam vary by state and are subject to change. Total Degree Requirements: 124 hours
