Global Master of Business Administration, GMBA

The Global Master of Business Administration, or Global MBA, will develop leaders with a global perspective, cross-cultural business skills and social responsibility.  It is committed to teaching major competencies in leadership, ethics and complex business skills which are critical for gaining sustainable competitive advantage in a global business environment.  Students in the program will analyze the impact of globalization on domestic businesses and consider successful practices of meeting the challenges of global business leadership and management.  The program is designed for business people who are challenged with growing worldwide competition and the necessity to deal effectively with the international business issues.

Schedule

Courses are 3 credit hours and are generally offered in eight-week terms one night a week on ground or online.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the requirements stated under the Graduate Admissions Policy, the requirements for admission to GMBA are as follows:

  1. Letter of recommendation from employer or professional reference.
  2. Completion of international travel acknowledgement form.
  3. Completion of program interview process and written approval of admission by the program director after review of the admissions requirements.

Business, Technology, and Leadership Division Foundations Courses: 0-6 credit hours


Students entering a graduate degree program in the Division of Business and Information Technology (DBIT) without a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting from an ACBSP, AACSB, or IACBE candidate or accredited institution AND who do not have a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the field of study they enter at Friends will be required to take courses in the DBIT in order to proceed with studies in their chosen graduate business program.

Students entering a graduate degree program in the Division of Business and Information Technology (DBIT) with a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting from an institution without secondary business accreditation or candidacy AND who do not have a minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in the field of study they enter at Friends will be required to take courses in the DBIT in order to proceed with studies in their chosen graduate business program.

All DBIT students required to take the foundation course must do so within the first 12 hours of their program requirements.

GMBA Program Requirements: 6 credit hours


Choose One Area of Concentration (Required): 9-15 credit hours


General Business Administration Concentration - 9 credit hours


Choose any combination of courses within the Master of Business Administration or Global Master of Business Administration concentration areas.

Accounting Concentration - 12-15 credit hours


Total Degree Requirements: 30-42 credit hours
