The candidates with a degree in Accounting must complete 54 hours outside the Division. A grade of “C” must be earned in each Division course applied to the degree.

EMPLOYMENT

A major in Accounting traditionally leads to employment in public, private, government or not-for-profit organizations such as public accounting firms, teaching, international companies, governmental agencies, healthcare agencies, law, and social work.

Students who plan to sit for the Certified in Public Accounting (CPA) exam should take 6 hours of  Economics in addition to the three hours of Economics required above and three hours of law in  addition to the three hours of law required above to meet the requirements of the Kansas Board of  Public Accountancy. Students who plan to sit for the Certified in Financial Management (CFM) exam  should take BSAD 471 Corporate Finance.

Total Major Requirements: 66 hours


Total Degree Requirements: 124 hours
