Accounting B.B.A.

An accounting degree provides graduates with a challenging career path clearly pointed toward growth and opportunity. The accounting major can work for companies that range in size from a sole practitioner to small partnerships to international firms. Opportunities for employment exist within both the private and public sectors. Accounting careers include jobs involving extensive interpersonal contact and those involving very little. Other careers could be in the fields of financial planning and investment analysis.

Accounting graduates who take positions with industry and not-for-profit organizations work as part of the management team providing information for decision support and performance evaluation. Accountants can also work within organizations specializing in tax reporting and planning.

It is recognized that students desiring to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) must complete 150 credits and a specified set of courses. In most cases students working toward meeting the CPA requirements will combine a 124 credit undergraduate degree with a graduate degree program, a second degree or additional hours leading to a certification. To sit for the CPA examination, a student needs all courses in this Accounting program along with two additional courses, including production management and an advanced law course.

SCHEDULE

The program consists of 94 weeks of instruction - one night per week for four hours.
