The Music Department serves undergraduate students wishing to study in performance areas, to prepare for a career in music education, to prepare for a ministry of music in churches, and to develop a knowledge and appreciation of music as an integral part of a liberal arts education.
All music majors must register for applied piano or piano class until all parts of the piano proficiency exam are satisfied.
All music majors must register for six semesters of MUSC 175 Concert Hour in order to graduate.
ACCREDITATION
Friends University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
EMPLOYMENT
Church soloists, organists and choir directors, studio instructors; preparation for graduate studies.
