EDUC 5650 - Respectful Expression 2 Credit Hours
In today’s society, it is commonplace for people to express themselves and their opinions by speaking publicly, in discussions, in the written word, and through social media, but that expression sometimes comes at the expense of others. As educators, it is our job to teach students how to speak well and write well. We also should teach students how to ensure that their opinions were created based on reliable information and those opinions are expressed in a way that respect is shown to their audience. In this workshop, we will explore how teachers can do this through classroom climate and a research-founded approach. This course is an online class. Participants will use Moodle to complete their work. Additional computer requirements may be found at: www .friends .edu/technology/ . Enrollment closes prior to the start date to allow time to establish Moodle accounts. If you need assistance with Moodle prior to the class start date, please call the Help Desk at 316-295-5767 or email at helpdesk@friends.edu.
